The source code and deployment helpers for Elevator are available on Github. The project is contained in the following repos:
To deploy Elevator, you’ll need an Amazon Web Services account, and at least one EC2 instance. We also recommend using Amazon RDS for database hosting (Postgres 9.4). You’ll use Amazon S3 for data storage. Most of the setup can be automated between Chef, Cloudformation, and the application. However, installing will require some familiarity with these technologies.
In general, we’d recommend at least three EC2 instances – one for the web application, one for Elasticsearch, and one for media processing.
We’re in the process of writing step-by-step instructions. If you’re already familiar with the basics of Chef, you can use this cookbook with chef.io.
